What we put on your walls, and why.

Paint is not interchangeable. A bathroom, a Florida stucco elevation, and a cabinet door all need different chemistry. We work in four brands — Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams, Florida Paints, and Farrow & Ball — and we specify the product and sheen in writing before the job starts.

Digital color is an approximation. Always confirm with a physical sample in your own light.

Benjamin Moore

Deep color system and clear performance tiers. For most residential work, Regal Select is the everyday wall paint, Advance handles cabinets and trim that need an enamel look, and Element Guard earns its keep on Florida exteriors when the weather window is short.

Element Guard has measurable early-rain guidance
Aura Exterior for UV-exposed, color-critical work
Advance levels exceptionally well for cabinetry

Cons (Florida)

Aura sits at the top of the price ladder
Advance’s slow recoat is vulnerable to dust in humid houses
“Mildew resistant” does not replace washing or fixing moisture

Best fit for us: Regal Select eggshell for most occupied homes; Element Guard for rain-prone exteriors; Advance for carefully scheduled cabinetry.

Sherwin-Williams

Easiest brand to replenish mid-job — company stores everywhere. Latitude is the line with the clearest measurable weather-window data for Florida exteriors. Duration Home is one of the better-documented moisture-oriented wall paints for bathrooms.

Emerald Exterior can set quickly above 80°F — lap marks risk
Sheen names vary by regional SKU — we specify the exact can

Best fit for us: Latitude for summer exteriors; Duration Home for bathrooms; Emerald Urethane for cabinetry and exterior doors.

Florida Paints

Manufactured in Florida for Florida. Where it earns a place on our trucks is stucco and masonry, coastal exteriors, and jobs where a local system matters more than a national brand name. “Florida-formulated” is a manufacturer claim — we say it that way.

TropiFlex XL	Masonry with recurring hairline cracking when elastomeric is justified

Best fit for us: SunFlex for premium masonry; Legacy Exterior for conventional premium exteriors; TropiFlex only when an elastomeric system is actually warranted.

Farrow & Ball

A color and sheen brand first. It earns a place when the client wants that specific look — and only when we specify the right finish for the room. Estate Emulsion in a Florida bathroom is a mistake. Modern Emulsion is not.

Best fit for us: Modern Emulsion for humid rooms; Dead Flat for durable designer walls; Estate Emulsion only in quiet dry rooms when the client understands the tradeoff.

The product name is secondary to preparation. In coastal St. Petersburg we wash off salt and mildew, repair water entry, respect dew point, and avoid sun-heated surfaces.
